Industrial equipment is essential in many industrial fields. For example, desulfurization pumps are widely used in thermal power plants, aluminum smelters, oil refineries and other industries. However, the equipment needs regular maintenance during long-term use. Let’s take a look at the tips on the maintenance of desulfurization pump.
1. Maintenance of shaft seal
The sealing water pressure and water volume of the packing shaft seal pump need to be checked regularly. Please keep a small amount of clean water flowing along the shaft and adjust the packing gland periodically. Check the packing and replace the packing regularly. The shaft seal water pressure and water volume should meet the inspection requirements of shaft seal.
2. Adjustment of impeller
In order to ensure the efficient operation of the pump, the gap between the impeller and the front cover shell must be adjusted in time. When adjusting the impeller clearance, it is preferred to stop the pump. Loosen the bolts that compress the bearing box, and loosen the adjusting nuts to move the bearing assembly forward. At the same time, rotate the shaft by hand in the direction of rotation of the pump until the impeller rubs against the front cover shell. Then use the adjusting bolt to move the rotor backward, note down the forward and backward movement gap value and distribute the gap evenly between the front and rear cover shells of the impeller, so that the gap between the impeller and the front cover shell is equal to the gap between the impeller and the rear cover shell. Tighten the two dustproof disks and fasten them on the shaft. After adjustment, before starting again, it is necessary to re-check whether the impeller is rotating normally and whether the hold-down bolt of the bearing assembly is tightened. And then start the pump.
3. Lubrication of the bearing
When the bearing assembly is assembled, if the assembly order is correct, the amount of lubricating oil is appropriate, and the maintenance is timely, the service life of bearing assembly will be longer. Maintenance personnel should regularly overhaul bearing components, check the condition of bearings and lubricants. Lubricating oil must be added or replaced regularly during operation. The interval time and the amount of injection are related to many factors such as the speed of the pump, the specifications of the bearing, the continuous working time, number of starts, the surrounding environment and the operating temperature. Therefore, it is necessary to gradually accumulate experience and add lubricating oil in a reasonable and timely manner.
4. The shaft of the backup pump should be turned 1/4 round every week so that the bearing can evenly bear static load and external vibration.
